Ruf, the German specialists that have their entire business model focused on Porsche, have announced an upgraded TurboR.
The Porsche 911 993-based TurboR is now available for purchase with a “full carbon skin,” which translates into a kit made of carbon fiber body panels. Customers can also order the model with a 590 HP upgrade, which is more than enough for a car that is based on the 993 generation of Porsche’s iconic sports car.
The regular version of the Ruf Turbo R comes with a 3.6-liter engine that delivers 490 HP at 5,500 rpm, while its peak torque is 620 Nm (457.3 lb-ft), which is available at 4,500 rpm.
Power is conveyed to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, and the top speed is 330 km/h (205 mph). The car is offered in an all-wheel-drive configuration, and Ruf has been offering this model since 1998.
The interior prides itself with RUF sports seats, a smaller steering wheel with a sporty design, and the signature green-lit instrument cluster. The cockpit is completed with an integrated roll cage that was inspired by the on of the CTR 2. The leather trim found inside this car is a custom design, and customers can request different colors and designs, because Ruf builds these cars by hand.
