It’s always better to get what you want later than never; that’s what they say. And when you’re asking £8 million ($12.35 million) for one rare breed of supercar delight, then you might as well wait until the proper buyer comes around. Whether or not the Mr. Bean actor received the initially asked price remains unknown, but at least it’s certain the McLaren F1 won’t leave the UK.
Not only are we talking about a one of only 63 supercars ever built, but Rowan Atkinson was the only owner of this one particular breed. It’s true, it went through some tough times while the famous British comedian would drive it around, with the famous crash worth $1.44 million in repairs, but it still is a great collectible.

As we previously reported, Mr. Bean went for specialist car dealer Taylor and Crawley to properly handle the F1 and even though it took some fair share of time for the deal to be sealed, the actor did get what he was asking for. According to The Telegraph, the dealership’s boss David Clark has confirmed he sold the supercar.

Everyone is very pleased with the sale. There was interest from around the world, and it has gone to a British buyer who will drive it like Rowan did. It is one of the biggest ever deals in the UK. Rowan is pleased, but also maybe a bit sad as he did 40,000 miles in it,” the auto dealer said.

Not that the McLaren isn't a great collectible, but we have to say Atkinson did quite an impressive profit with this deal. Even if the buyer went with a lower counter offer, we’re sure the price was never too far from what the actor asked in the first place. Considering he paid £640,000 ($960,000) when he first bought it, that is a nice deal indeed.
