If you thought that modern bikes, even electric ones, are too conventional-looking, you’ll be glad to know that a team from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences is developing a very interesting-looking electric motorbike.
It’s common knowledge that people from Northern-European countries are good at designing stuff which looks good and is usually very pleasant to use. With its covered front wheel, it’s expected to get a drag coefficient of 0.28 (extremely good for a motorbike).

Helped along by its two electric motors, which have a combined output of 92hp and 80Nm (59lb-ft), the carbon-monocoque bike is expected to get from 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 4.0 seconds and top out at around 160 km/h (100mph). Its battery capacity of 6kWh gives it a maximum range of about 100 km (62miles), decent numbers for a bike of this type.

We hope their plans materialize as the project itself is very promising and with ‘nordic know-how’ behind it, it’s got every chance to be great.
