Lucky Ron Mercurio (or should we say, his father) was elected as the winner of the Roland Sands "Bell Star Treatment" contest, and this meant a complete overhauling of the bike we came with, an 1987 Harley-Davidson FXLR "Low Rider".
Since Rolad Sands mentioned "Star Treatment" we expected something truly nice, but we clearly did not see such a massive change. RSD has basically torn the Harley apart nut and bolt and tossed pretty much everything, save for the frame, engine and fork.

Bennet's Performance did a complete engine re-working, with a Baker transmission and Delcron case to accommodate the new H-D starter, with a Rivera Primo clutch. Performance Machine delivered the machined clutch slave, hand controls and calipers, while Spiegler brake lines also came in place.

Progressive Suspension brought the rear 444 shocks and the fork lowering kit, and the old FXLR also received upgrade form K&N, Dynatek, Anti Gravity and Wiseco. A Dakota Digital gayge replaced the retro ones and added a dash of modern tech.

On the looks side, it was Roland's time to shine, with the Nostalgia rocker covers. Morris Balck Ops wheels, Black Ops pegs and grips. New, custom pipes and a Slant silencer took care of the exhaust, and custom, rear fender and tank have been hand fabricated. Airtrix' painting magic was also commissioned.

Did Ron's father recognize his bike? We really doubt. But we can figure out he did like his new ride.
