Made by coach builders Wood & Picket and based on a Mk II Cooper S, the Boomerangs (as this is the name of this car) is definitely one unique piece of machinery.

The creators wanted to make sure nobody mistakes this car for anything else but what it is : a true, 100 percent UK creation. Therefore, they took all the necessary steps to fit it with all the most “british” accessories they could.

The flared wheel arches, big wheels and tires tell only half a story. The car got extra chrome here and there and a new swage line across to top of the front wings next to the traditional Lucas LR9 spotlights in the front grille, a Webasto full sunroof and a bespoke Pacific Blue paint job.

Inside, the ‘Britishness’ goes even further. Aston Martin DB6 leather seats, electric windows with Aston Martin switches, Rolls Royce chrome handles, dark blue leather-trimmed carpets, Britax seat belts, MGB rev counter and odometer and a Jaguar set of auxiliary instruments make the cabin a really nice place to be in.

So, the unique character was determined but what makes this a Rock’n’Roll car? Well, according to the sellers, the car was owned by Denny Laine of the Moody Blues for about 10 years and then a member of Sir Paul McCartney’s band Wings and then by John Hammel, the same man’s guitar technician. This also explains all the unique British features on it... In some way...

The car will be going under the hammer on June 7th at the Historics Auction in Surrey, UK.
