Retro-Inspired Lyonheart K to Enter Production

The Jaguar E-Type is one of those cars which needs no introduction or auxiliary explanation, as everybody knows what it is, what it looks like and when and why it was built. Somebody with a bit more car culture will tell you how the Series I is definitely the best one to have, yet the Series III, with the V12, is a seriously quick car, even by modern standards.

Nowadays, Jaguar still draws heavily from the iconic E-Type for the XK and the new F-Type, yet for some, their modern interpretations are’t true enough to the original. So, a Coventry-based company, called Lyonheart, which originally released several renderings of a much more accurate modern interpretation of the classic car has announced that it will put the car into production, in both coupe and convertible guises.

The car is called the ‘K’, and the company originally released the pictures, to see whether they would arouse enough interest, from people who could ultimately afford it, as it is not for everybody - it will be priced around the €400,000 mark, and only 250 examples will ever be made. Of those cars, 70% will go to Europe, 20% will go to China and 10% will go to the Middle East.

Technical details are sparse, yet we do know that it will most likely be powered by a 5.0-liter Cosworth-tuned V8 engine, which puts out 567 hp. This would enable the car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 4 seconds, before topping out at 300 km/h (186 mph). We can’t wait to see one of these built, and driving around, as it really is a stunner, from a design standpoint.
