The vehicle was dressed in white and yellow and even received a mustache, with the one-off being donated to Freddie Mercury’s charity, the Mercury Phoenix Trust, which fights against AIDS, the darkness that claimed Quuen’s front man in 1991.
The unique Twizzy took part in the recent The Savoy in London event and helped raise voer GBP7,000 (EUR8,750 or USD11,200) for the charity.
“It looked incredible with its moustache on the front and wrapped in the design of the iconic ‘Live Magic Freddie’ yellow jacket and white trousers outfit he famously wore at Wembley Stadium in 1986. The Mercury Phoenix Trust is doing a great job in educating and raising awareness of HIV and AIDS in the areas of the world where it is most needed and Renault is delighted to be involved with such a worthy charity,” said Renault UK’s Managing Director, Thierry Sybord.
