The German small-run bike manufacturer entered the Red Dot contest with their stunning VR6 Black Edition motorcycle. We got very close to this exquisite motorcycle last November at EICMA 2015, so you will be able to enjoy several cool shots of the Black Edition we took there.

We won't babble too much about what the Red Dot Award for Product Design means. Putting things bluntly, the Red Dot is probably the highest accolade a product can receive in recognition of its exceptional design. And we'll add that the products that earn this award have their place secured in a museum.

Now, about the Horex VR6 Black Edition, it is one of the new bikes manufactured after the German company 3C Carbon Group saved the brand from extinction in early 2015. As the name indicates, the new owners of Horex are carbon fiber specialists and wanted the VR6 Black Edition to show the world their prowess in this field.

That is why the VR6 Black Edition comes with a carbon steering neck and rear subframe, alongside plenty of other carbon fiber parts that can be spotted in the photos we took.

First class Ohlins suspensions, Brembo braking system and high-end LED dash and LED lighting are also on the menu. The bike is powered by the interesting narrow-angle VR6 engine that produces 167.7 hp and 138 Nm (101.7 lb-ft) of torque. Only 33 such units are available worldwide, so if you need one more bike in your luxury collection, you can hope they're not sold out yet.

The second name is Akrapovic, and it is not at its Red Dot debut. The Slovenian manufacturer actually won two prizes, one for a motorcycle exhaust and the other for a car system.

The bike product is the Evolution Line system for the Ducati Multistrada 1200, whereas the car-related one was the Slip-On Line exhaust system for the Lamborghini Aventador. Both will be on display in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, featured in the Online Presentation, and showcased in the 2015/2016 Red Dot Design Yearbook.
