Record-Setting 9s Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Likes to Pull Wheelies for Fun

While the world of street cars only sees certain drivers dreaming about following motorcycle riders in terms of wheelies, such stunts are common for four-wheeled machines that enjoy spending time at the drag strip. Today, we want to show you a record-setting Cadillac CTS-V Coupe that pulls wheelstands for giggles.

Now, before we move on to discussing the details that make this Caddy a good friend of velocity, we have to explain its record status. We're dealing with the fastest supercharger-only CTS-V in the country, while the vehicle is also the fifth fastest of its kind, with four nitrous-addicted cars being ahead of it.

Returning to the tech side of this GM machine, the project car comes from Rick Crawford Racing. A lot of the custom goodies it uses were built using CNC machining. For instance, this applies to the blower pulleys, as the car used a 2.38 upper pulley and an 8.66 lower pulley.

Despite the focus being entirely placed on performance here, this CTS-V Coupe also has a few elements that act as an attention magnet. Perhaps the best example comes from the ice tank, which is supplied by Aldo Welds.

Now that we've mentioned various bits and pieces that help this Cadillac in its quarter mile quest, the time has come to discuss its 1,320 feet results.

As you'll be able to see in the piece of footage below, the CTS-V Coupe can deliver nine-second 1/4-mile passes. Regardless of the standards we use, a nine-second car is seriously fast, especially since we're talking about a machine that has kept its street legal configuration.

However, this Caddy does come with a few tricks that aim to enhance its relationship with the scales. For instance, while the production CTS-V Coupe has overly cozy armchairs playing the role of the front seats, this car features bucket seats.

We know, such weight reduction measures might seem a little ironic given the profile of the car, but once you see the machine in action, everything starts making sense.
