Rebecca Jackson Moves to Telegraph Cars from Carbuyer

Even though it shames us to publicly admit it, we do watch Carbuyer reviews from time to time. They have a no-nonsense, jargon-free attitude to explaining cars, plus there's the banana test, which is pure genius.

One half of the Carbuyer charm was a female presenter by the name of Rebecca Jackson, who always told us she was 5' 4" and made her reviews brighter with her smile. In August 2014, Rebecca unexpectedly left Carbuyer and even though a replacement soon arrived in the form of Ginny Buckley, we always wondered what happened to her.

By pure chance, we discovered a new Youtube car reviews channel called Telegraph Cars. It was established on September 1st, 2014, and has gathered almost 15,000 subscribers already. "The Telegraph Cars YouTube channel brings you video reviews of the latest new cars on sale, all in a concise, jargon-free way that will make choosing your next new car easy," their description says, which may sound a bit familiar.

Rebecca has already done ten reviews for Telegraph Car, including one for the BMW M4 and the Porsche 911 Targa. You can find the same reviews she did on Carbuyer, only all of them were done by Mat Watson.

Right, now for a bit of trivia and we'll be done with this story. Rebecca was born in 1982 in Horndean, Hampshire. Her father was an engineer and restored classic cars, which is where she first gained insight into cars. She got her license at 17 and her first car is said to have been a Peugeot 205 with a 1.4-liter engine. Miss Jackson also has a racing project that mainly involves the Porsche brand. It started with an old 924, moved to a Boxster and in 2015 will include the 911 GT3 Cup. Judging from her numerous Twitter posts, she's a big fan of the Stuttgart Prancing Horse and its rear-engined cars, old and new.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
