The E30 M3 raised probably the biggest cult in BMW’s backyard, one that drove the prices for such cars up into never-before thought possible ranges, especially during the last 3 years.
Fitted with a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder S14 engine that revved into oblivion, a master crafted chassis that was perfectly balanced and offering more feedback through the steering wheel than any other car BMW made in the last 30 years, the M3 is one of the best things ever to come out of Germany.

However, the provision of such cars that are still in mint condition is growing smaller every day, making them more and more desirable by the year.

In case you love what the E30 platform is capable of but can’t seem to land yourself an M3, there’s a more exclusive and more powerful solution within your reach, going under the hammer in just a bit over a week.

We’re talking about a 1988 Alpina C2 2.7 that will be going up for auction during the Restoration Show Sale organised by Silverstone Auctions in Birmingham, UK, on April 12.

The car itself has just over 100,000 miles on the odometer and comes with the complete package that includes the Alpina body kit, Alpina wheels and even stripes on the sides.

The engine was upgraded by the German tuner back in the late 80s and makes 210 HP that will carry you to 140 mph (225 km/h) with ease. The best news about this car is that, despite making more power than an equivalent M3 of the era it’s estimated to go for a much smaller price so if you’re nearby on April 12, you should really check out the auction for the chance to own a piece of BMW and Alpina history.
