Ram Launches New Charity Campaign, Says Hunting Could Save the Country’s Hungry

With this new advertorial campaign, Ram Truck wants its customers to acknowledge two things: first, you can’t be alone while in the wild; second, you should donate a portion of your harvests to feed people in need. If there’s any way the company can attract the needed attention, it’s probably through the exciting visuals of some remote landscapes filmed in high definition quality.

The new marketing campaign - that includes television, print, digital and social media components - celebrates the outdoor lifestyle while raising awareness of the missions of Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH). The organization enables hunters to donate a portion of their hunt to the less fortunate.

The ads - which all carry the hashtag #RamHuntsHunger - are designed to remind people that 49 million Americans struggle to put food on the table and that we all have the ability to help. Ram Truck is reminding everybody that FHFH oversees a national network of meat processors and food banks. Donations assist the organization to reach more than 115 chapters across 30 states. Yes, but why hunters?

“Some of Ram’s most passionate fans are huge hunting enthusiasts,” said Bob Hegbloom, Head of Ram Brand, FCA - North America. “Truck owners and outdoor enthusiasts are always willing to lend a helping hand, which is why Ram is heightening awareness of one of the ways they can give back to their local communities this time of year.”

The new campaign is based on television creative executions that include a 60-second “Stay Inside” and 30-second “Small” ads featuring Ram 2500 Outdoorsman and Ram 2500 PowerWagon trucks. Two other 30-second spots, “Donate” and “Landscape,” specifically promote the cause and tell viewers to participate.

If Ram Truck’s campaign surprises you, it shouldn’t, considering that it’s not a premiere. Following the airing of its “Farmer” video on the 2013 Super Bowl broadcast, Ram declared 2013 the “Year of the Farmer,” with a series of national and grassroots initiatives to fight hunger.
