Raikkonen's Managers Spotted at McLaren's Headquarters
text size: A- A+
According to ITV reports, Steve and David Robertson visited the McLaren's Technology Centre earlier today and we're more than convinced that it wasn't because they are very interested in how the development of the MP4-25 is going ahead of the winter testing.
Recent reports from the UK showed that Raikkonen is seeking approximately 25 million euros from McLaren Mercedes in exchange for a multi-year deal with the Woking based team. Under normal economic circumstances, the two parties might have come to an agreement already, but what makes it stagnate is the fact that Raikkonen is already receiving almost half of that from Ferrari throughout the 2010 season.
After agreeing to terminate his deal with the prancing horse earlier this year, Raikkonen was supposedly guaranteed 10 million euros by Ferrari if he'll join another outfit in 2010. In case he would find that impossible, Ferrari would pay him 17 million euros.
A few weeks ago, Raikkonen admitted that McLaren would be the only team he'd drive for in 2010, as he wants a title-winning car next year. In addition, Lewis Hamilton's father and manager Anthony revealed that he wants the Finn to join the silver arrows next year in order to ensure a healthy competition for his son.
With discussion under way as we speak, take a deep breath and stay tuned for more reports on the matter...
