Powering this road-legal race car is a Suzuki motorbike engine which displaces 1340cc and produces 210 hp at 10,500 rpm as well as a maximum torque figure of 176 Nm (130 lb-ft). The power is transferred to the road via six-speed sequential gearbox which, while in motion, can be shifted without the use of the clutch, motorbike-style. Also, in order not to spin all the power off, the SR1 gets a mechanical LSD as well as race-spec slick tires. Its stopping power is ensured by 240 mm ventilated disk with four-pot race-spec calipers front and rear.
The most similar 'normal' car we could find to the SR1 is the Renault Clio RS Cup. We think that the comparison is valid, as both cars are designed to go as fast as possible, for as little money as possible (granted, using different approaches), and neither should be absent from the garage of any track-loving petrolhead on a budget.
