Racing in Slow Motion IV Is Self Explanatory and Awesome! [Video]
text size: A- A+
Why? Well, the inclusion of more and more technology has made today’s racing drivers half driver and half IT technician. Modern racing cars have become so complicated, that it is mandatory for the driver to not only be good at driving a car, but also to tune it on the move, to provide feedback, to understand telemetry, to calculate all sorts of stuff - all in all, it’s a lot to take in. This is one of the reasons why drivers who have reached the pinnacle of their respective sport are paid extremely well. However, with all this technology, some of the passion has been lost, as well as some of the good ol’ racing action we used to see but 20-25 years ago.
Now, it’s usually just one guy, leading the race from start to finish, and then stopping one lap before the race ends - it’s pathetic for this level of racing. So, we thank Youtube user RacingInSlowMotion for posting this excellent video of racing cars and bikes in slow motion, showing us that despite the fact that we can’t see what they are doing in real time, drivers and riders in modern day racing are still the heroes of ‘back in the day’.
