Prost to Race for A1 Team France at Kyalami
- He made his A1 GP debut with Team France at Chengdu
- He scored one point for A1 Team France so far
- A1 Team France is 4th overall in the standings
Prost will therefore make his return as racing driver in the A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport, following his outing for the aforementioned Team France at Chengdu. Having spent the first part of the season being rookie driver for his team until the Chinese round, he scored an 8th place in the Sprint Race (DNF in the Feature Race).
“After a very positive outing in China the team's decided to put its trust in me again, which I'm very happy about. It shows that it's satisfied with my work. My aim is to be on the pace right away and to be among the front-runners throughout the weekend,” said Prost, when confirmed his second outing in the series.
A1 Team France is currently 4th overall in the point standings, trailing A1 Team Portugal for the last step of the podium by 8 points. Nevertheless, Panis feels confident that his team will make it through the next weekend safe and sound, especially since Prost has already developed a good relationship with the team in the first part of the season.
“Nicolas is already completely at home in our team. He's well prepared for this new challenge after a season as test driver with A1 Team France and a race a few months ago. We've already found an efficient way of working together, and we have every confidence in each other,” said Panis.
