MINI has announced plans to preview the next generation of the Clubman van at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. A thinly veiled production car will be presented, previewing the actual production car that should arrive within a year.
We've seen that concept and were totally impressed with it. However, concepts as well as press cars have a tendency to be overly cool by being fitted with every feature possible, which customers will rarely be able to afford. This is what the Clubman will likely actually look like, as per rendering created by X-Tomi design.
He added smaller, less flossy wheels from a Cooper hatch, regular door handles and fog lights where the concept presented halos, right next to the Number plate. This look will be carried into production by Clubman Cooper and Cooper D model, the S and SD getting a hood scoop and a slightly different lower front bumper, to name just the most obvious changes.
This new model is the biggest MINI has ever made 4223mm long, 1844mm wide and 1450mm tall. It will get a more traditional body, with two doors on either side of the car. Production will likely start towards the end of the year, probably following a debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.
