Pricing for the Pontiac G8 GXP Has Just Been Released

Pontiac have confirmed today the price for the most powerful model in their lineup, the 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP. The price for this American Muscle Car will start at $39,995, which also  includes $685 destination and freight charges and another $1,700 in federal gas guzzler taxes.

The 415 horsepower monster has a 0-60 time that is well under 5.0 seconds and is driven with the help from a six-speed automatic transmission or by an optional ($695) six-speed manual transmission, which we encourage you to buy because nothing beats the driving sensation like shifting your own gears.

There is also a $900 sunroof option available for the Pontiac which we think its rather pricey.The G8 GXP is reported to have a fuel economy rating of around 13 miles per gallon in the city and 20 miles per gallon on the open road.

The 6.2L engine is the newest member of GM's small-block V8 family and it features a large-bore cylinder block, high-flow, L92-style cylinder heads, larger-diameter pistons, unique camshaft and camshaft timing, revised valve train with offset intake rocker arms, high-flow intake manifold, and high-flow fuel injectors, a combination that can also be deadly and exciting at the same time.
