If we had to label the current supercar testing at the Nurburgring, we'd say this week has been characterized by a battle between turbocharged and naturally aspirated speed demons.
Given the industry's current trends, the forced-fed monsters have a clear advantage, with the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 and the Mercedes-AMG GT R joining forces for this virtual brawl.

The 2018 Jaguar F-Type facelift is the supercharged exception, so we'll leave the fast cat out of this. Nevertheless, the 2017 Audi R8 Spyder doesn't have to fight the turbo machines alone, as the 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 facelift has now joined the party - we'll try to steer clear of mentioning model years from this point on.

The 991.2 GT3 has now been spotted completing the final phase of its development. And while the Zuffenhausen supercar you can see in the video below is being driven around the Nurburgring, we can see the cars on the roads in the proximity of the track rather than on the circuit itself.

The rear-engine coupe is almost out of the camouflage bag, but the pieces of camo covering the details of the GT3's nose are small.

The engineer behind the wheel of this 991.2 GT3 test car decides to put the flat-six at the back of the vehicle to good use while exiting a roundabout, so we get a good taste of the Neunelfer's naturally aspirated soundtrack.

As indicated by the PDK "interjections", the prototype we have here is a double-clutch car. Then again, a bit of patience should take us to the version gifted with the optional six-speed manual lifted from the 911 R - the stick shift was spied too, remember?

Having taken away the GT3's clutch for half a generation, Porsche has only increased the value of the past and future GT3s and we have to admit that's one effective way of maximising profit.
