Porsche Design P'6930 Watch Costs over $10,000
Now, in 2010, Porsche Design offers an more accessible option with the P'6930 Chronograph. The watch shares the same Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 movements (with small modifications) with its more expensive cousin. Porsche Design says the original 6910 was styled after the Porsche Carrera GT supercar, which will came out at the same time as the watch. The P’6930 Valjoux 7750 has the same thematic, attention-grabbing look.
The dial of the model is very easy to read due to the large indicators and black&white contrast, but also has a three dimensional feel, thanks to its hexagonal pattern. The dial is easy to read at nights as well. A feature specific to Porsche Design is that the chronograph's second scale is actually applied under the sapphire crystal and not to the dial. The Voljoux 7750 movement now features decorations in Cote de Geneve stripes and blued steel screws.
Porsche Design calls the watch "The Chronograph," which pays tribute to "The Indicator" nickname given to the P’6910. The watch is actually built by Eterna and has the high price of $10,800 (EUR8,025). This should not affect sales figures, as Porsche Design has a very rich clientele.
