Porsche Cayenne Diesel Gets RUF Power
The first modification increases the performances of the Serial 3,0 l Turbo-Diesel from 176 kW (240 hp) to about 212 kW (288 hp) and a maximum torque of 560 Nm. The price for this conversion is 3,048 euros ($4,303) plus VAT.
The second modification takes the Cayenne’s performances to about 228 kW (310 hp) and the maximum torque of 610 Nm, but the price for this conversion is double, as it stands at 6,379 euros ($9,006) plus VAT.
As a quick reminder, the Porsche Cayenne Diesel was first introduced in November 2008, with the German automaker beginning production on this model the following month.
The diesel version of the Cayenne features a borrowed-from-Audi 3.0-Liter V6 TDI that produces 240 horsepower and a torque peak of 550 Nm, and mated with the Tiptronic-S automatic gearbox as standard.
However, as it managed to keep the consumption level at an average of only 9.3 liters per 100 km, the car emits 244 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, but that proved to be left aside by the Porsche customers, as the model sold well in spite of the global financial crisis.
Yet, if you afford taking about 50,000 euros (more or less, depending on the country you live in and the options you want to add) from your pocket to spend it on the Cayenne Diesel, we are sure that you will find between 3,000 and 6,500 euros more if you want to add a little more power.
