Porsche 918 Spyder Gets F1 Makeover in Wacky Mashup, Doesn't Look Half Bad

Porsche may have retired the 918 Spyder (read: production came to an end), but Zuffenhausen continues to put its halo car to work for its image. Fortunately, the wild wild web does the same, which is how we end up with wicked mashups such as the one above.
The image, a well-executed Photoshop job, shows a 918 Spyder that has received Formula One elements, from the wheels to the aero elements all over the hypercar.

In case you're wondering about the relationship between Porsche, the most motorsport-savvy carmaker out there, and F1, you should know the German attempted to play the Grand Prix game back in the late 50s and early 60s, while trying to serve as an engine supplier in the 80s and 90s. Alas, none of the attempts led to prolongues success.

We're not sure digital artist Kd Khalim aimed to one-up all the other 918s out there in terms of oddity, but the man certainly pulled it off - heck, last time we checked, the most special (real-world) gas-electric Porsche we cold find was former VW Chairman Ferdinand Piech's 918, which dithes the Spyder part, coming with a fixed roof.

Those of you who aren't Porsche aficionados should know the guy on the left of the car... is one. Magnus Walker came to the Porsche world as some sort of outlaw, with his Zuffenhasen dedication earning him respect.

Alas, his image took quite a hit back in August last year, when Magnus' all-out driving bit him back. The enthusiast crashed his air-cooled 911 (the 277 911t) into a truck parked on the side of the road due to overcooking things with a reported on board.

Returning to the mashup above, the internet enjoys delivering plenty of such pixel rearrangements these days. From the Bugatti Veyron or Chiron to Bentleys, no car is spared, so purists should find a way of coping with the phenomenon.
