The Mercedes SLR is long gone, with the SLS AMG now reigning with pride. However, aftermarket developers still the time to release tuning projects based on the first, giving us sweet desktop material.
The latest development of this kind comes from US tuning company Platinum Motorsport, which is using a black & white approach. The tuner is giving us nonidentical twins, with each car coming with its own personality. However, both use rather extreme aerodynamic elements which redefine the SLR's visual identity.

This project might not be apprenticed by everyone (we're expecting critics to target the front end of the white car, for example), but it's definitely worth mentioning. Take a look at the aforementioned gallery and decide: is this overkill?
