French automaker Peugeot had just revealed a second special edition for the 2010 model year based on their latest RCZ sports car. Dubbed Asphalt, it follows the RCZ Limited Edition that was launched in September 2009. This version will too be produced in a limited number of units.

However, the RCZ Asphalt will come in a double number of units as the previous model, with 500 of them being available for purchase, Luxist reports.

The RCZ Asphalt special edition finished in Noir Telluric matte black exterior paint, comes fitted with new 19-inch black and silver alloys for the exterior, and a pair of custom made sport seats covered in black leather for the interior. Customers will also get their example fitted with a number of "Asphalt" logos on both the interior and the exterior.

Peugeot has released a number of images that offer a glimpse of the new special edition RCZ, but the Asphalt is yet to get a price tag. However, we might make an effort and use the RCZ Limited Edition as a guideline for that, which will make us think the Asphalt should retail for around EUR35,500. Also, availability details across European markets haven’t been released yet.

Unfortunately, future owners of such a special edition will not get any engine updates, so they’ll just have to settle for the top-of-the-range 1.6 liter THP engine that develops a total of 200 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque, with an overboost system bringing an extra 20 Nm; it can push the car from 0 to sixty in 7.6 seconds.
