Peugeot Prepares EX1 Concept for Paris

Peugeot is preparing a surprise for the Paris Auto Show, where the French automotive producer will celebrate 200 years of existence.

The company will unveil a concept called EX1 at the event, with the study set to be a sporty vehicle that will use a hybrid or an electric powertrain, becoming an example of efficiency.

Peugeot is working hard to bring the vehicle to the show, with the concept being a demonstration of the company’s potential after 200 years of development.

The company has released a teaser image showing a part of the EX1’s futuristic interior, but details are extremely limited. The automaker announced that it will offer us the first details of the vehicle on September 6, with a set of complete images scheduled to be released on September 21.

The picture shows a part of the vehicle’s dashboard, which seems to be orientated towards the driver. The concept will use ultra-tech solutions, with one example being the replacement of the steering wheel with a joystick. This reminds of the BB1 concept that Peugeot brought to last year’s Frankfurt Auto Show.

As the concept is set to offer a sporty aura, its exterior design will come with bold lines that will create a strong image in the mind of the beholder.

autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Paris Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
