Peugeot’s press office has sprung a leak and the latest sportscar to be developed by the French carmaker has been revealed, ahead of its supposed official debut on September 29th at the Paris Motor Show.
It’s called the Onyx, and for some reason we find the name annoying, reminding us annoying astrologists that match your sign to a rock. But behind the Frenchness, there’s a really cool sportcar.
We don’t have official information yet, just these leaked photos from Russian site Autowp, but a quick look will reveal carbon fiber most likely plays a structural role in this car, as it’s visible in the pillars from inside the car.
The body of the Onyx looks like its a moulded in one piece of metal. Just like a Bugatti Veyron, the body is a two-tone job, a chrome copper look for the doors and the front wings and black for the rest.
OTher cool features include rearview cameras instead of mirrors and carbon fiber blades to stick the car to the ground.
autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
