Peugeot Onyx Concept at Goodwood 2013 [Video] [Live Photos]
We have both video footage and live photos with the car that we wanted to share with you guys. The Onyx is actually a mid-engined diesel hybrid, a bit like the cars they use in Le Mans. The engine is a 3.7-litre V8 hybrid HDi FAP and it transmits its 600 horsepower through a sequential gearbox. Behind that desperately gorgeous body is a chassis and suspension system developed by the folks at Peugeot Sport.
Interestingly, the shiny body panels you see are hand-crafted from copper and have not been lacquered. This means that they change color if moisture touches them and have to be buffed, just like your silverware.
Looking at just how beautiful this car is, I really wonder why Peugeot can still make mutant monster cars for us road users. Get rid of the parrot beaks guys!
