Peugeot 208 T16, Sebastien Loeb Make First Pikes Peak Contact [Video]
Peugeot Sport’s first Pikes Peak trial consisted of an altitude engine test and a shakedown run at the Colorado Spring’s “speedway” “in order to sign off the changes that have been made since the car’s final test run in France”. Meanwhile, Sebastian Loeb, who’s a Pikes Peak rookie, “climbed” the course nine times to familiarize himself with the 156 turns.
“I feel very confident with the car,” said Sebastien Loeb. “That’s a reassuring start, if only because of the speeds we get up to here. We are already getting close to the limit in many places. All we need to do now is make some detail changes and we will be ready for the Big Day!”
And since the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak’s development was documented on video since the vehicle’s inception, the French manufacturer uploaded footage with the Colorado test run as well. Just scroll below to have a look.
As a reminder, the 208 T16 Pikes Peak race car is powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine that produces a massive 875 hp, delivered to all four wheels. It has a power to weight ratio of 1-to-1, which means it also weighs 875 kg.
