Petrolicious Explains Design Philosophy Behind Lamborghini Countach

With modern rules and regulations limiting the freedom that designers have when first drawing up a new car, they all look pretty much the same. However, back in the 1970s, designers were still able to bring even their wildest ideas to the showroom, and the Lamborghini Countach is a car which perfectly exemplifies the point.
With its ultra-low roof, and ultra-low stance, there really is nothing like it on the road today. Not even modern supercars, which can’t hope to match or surpass the sense of occasion one gets when seeing a Countach in the metal. Lamborghini’s designers couldn’t care less about practicality, concentrating on making the car look as good (and as menacing and mean) as possible.

The way in which the Countach was designed is excellently explained by James Chen, who owns one himself. He narrates the excellent video by Petrolicious, and the passion he feels for the car is clearly evident in the way he talks about it, its lines and the philosophy behind its inception.
