Pedrosa to Undergo Wrist Surgery after Qatar Crash

During his crash in Qatar on Monday night, his bike fell on top of him, producing further damage to his wrist and knee. These two parts of his body had already been affected by several injuries in the past. Pedrosa has broken his wrist during the race at Sachsenring last season, while his knee was damaged during the 2008 Australian Grand Prix.
The latter of these injuries resulted in a knee surgery this winter. According to media reports from autosport.com, that section will again be worked upon by the medical staff this week, as the wound from his previous injury had reopened during the Qatar crash.
Also, Pedrosa will undergo a minor surgery at his wrist, following the fracture in his left radius bone discovered after further reexamination of his Qatar injuries. The surgery is scheduled to take place today.
Before the medical operation was confirmed in Barcelona, a Honda statement had confirmed Pedrosa's presence during the last testing session of the off-season, at Jerez, in late March. However, his testing mileage ahead of the new season will now depend on his recovery during the next few weeks.
