Paul Rudd and Hyundai Join Forces

Hyundai Motor America just announced that actor Paul Rudd will serve as the new voice of its national advertising. The first project with the automaker will have the Knocked Up star featuring a new campaign for the 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The Hollywood star will replace Jeff Bridges, who was the narrative talent for Hyundai for the last seven years.

Rodd’s first voice-over includes the new spot “Co-Pilot,” which takes a humorous approach towards the back seat driver mentality. As two couples head into San Francisco on the town, they’re joined by a man in the back seat. “The backseat driver” is quickly schooled by the Sonata’s safety and navigation system as it leads the group to their destination.

The deal will replace Hyundai’s long term collaboration with Jeff Bridges, who has been working with the automaker since 2007. “Hyundai’s relationship with Jeff Bridges is one of the longest in the industry - narrating ads for industry leading vehicles and programs such as Hyundai Assurance. While we say goodbye to an epic era with Jeff, we are extremely excited to have Paul come on board,” the company explained in their press release.

Meanwhile, Paul Rudd will continue shooting Marvel Studios’ film Ant-Man as the lead actor. Ant-Man is a fictional character featured in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is the second superhero character to use the name in the Marvel Universe, after Dr. Henry Pym. He is a reformed thief and an electronics expert. The movie will be released in 2015.
