Sir Paul McCartney's daugther English fashion designer Stella Nina McCartney was among the celebrities to pose next to Jaguar’s new XE model at the official unveiling. The British automaker recently posted an image of her next to a to the car so we’re wondering whether she’s planning to get one for herself or it's just pure marketing.
As the second child of Beatles bassist Paul McCartney, Stella was always attracted to fashion design and lead her life according to that and always being surrounded by famous people did definitely help. Her graduation collection in 1995 was modeled by friends and supermodels Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Kate Moss - for free - at the graduation runway show. The collection was shown to a song penned by her famous father, called “Stella May Day.” Of course, the show made front-page news, and the entire collection was sold to Tokio, a London boutique.
And her passion did obviously pay off, as she received most of the awards in the industry, including Best Designer of The Year at the British Style Awards (2007, London), Best Designer of The Year at the Spanish Elle Awards (2008, Barcelona), the Green Designer of the Year at the ACE Awards (2008, New York) and in 2009 she was honored by the NRDC, featured in the Time 100 and recognized as a Glamour magazine Woman of the Year.
She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2013 New Year Honors for services to fashion and since February 2013 she was assessed as one of the 100 most powerful women in U.K.
Point is, Jaguar obviously would not miss the opportunity to have that sort of famous people around, so of course she was on the VIP list at this weak’s official unveiling of the new XE model. As to whether McCartney is actually going to buy the new Jaguar model or not, that’s something only time will tell, but you guys know we’ll keep you updated.
