Paris 2012: Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
With its gasoline tank full, and the 12 kWh battery pack fully topped up, it has a maximum range of 864 km (540 miles). On the outside, there is little do differentiate from its conventionally-powered siblings, except for the special paint finish and different front grille.
Recharging the battery takes under four hours, from a regular Level 2 charging station, or if 80% of its capacity is all you need, it will only take 30 minutes from a rapid charging station. When it runs out, however, it will automatically begin to be charged by the gasoline engine. No official date for when it reaches showrooms, but since the regular Outlander is already out, perhaps the start of 2013 is a moderately-accurate prediction.
