A lot of money can buy you a lot of car, which on the streets means a lot of respect. Squeeze and shoot performance is easy to handle while drag racing in a straight line, but take the same fast car to the track and you might not win any more battles. Why is that relevant? Because the next guy thinks a fast car equals respect at the Nurburgring, with disastrous consequences.
As the guys chasing him in the Ford Focus RS point out, this guy is overdriving the car. His first big mistake is when he runs wide, putting half his car on the grass. That should have been a scare experience, but instead of worrying about himself and the state of his car, the Porsche driver is spurred on.
Because they guys following him know the lines and the track better, they're staying with him. The guys in the Focus say he's looking in the mirrors all the time instead of thinking his next corner. Annoyed by fact that his expensive GT3 could be overtaken by a hot hatch, the overzealous Porsche driver makes a huge mistake which he doesn't correct and ends up hitting the wall.
It looks like a minor crash but there's a huge underlying problem. The Youtube video comments say the damaged 911 was taken onto the track with an oil leak. This may have caused a motorcyclist to crash and need medical attention, plus the Nurburgring had to be shut down and made safe again.
