Opel / Vauxhall Mokka Scores 5-Star Euro NCAP Rating [Video]
“Vauxhall offers the highest possible safety standards to our customers, and the Mokka is no exception,” said Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director. “Vauxhall is very proud to bring cutting-edge technologies to a wider segment of customers.”
The Mokka’s strongest point was its electronic stability control, as it scored the maximum point in ESC testing. Euro NCAP gave a positive rating to the Mokka’s electronic stability control, for its seatbelt reminder function and its speed limitation assistance, all standard features on the Mokka.
For adult occupant protection, the Mokka scored a highly impressive 96% score. This result was achieved thanks to affective front, side head and side body airbags as well as double belt pre-tensioners with load limiters. Adjustable head restraints on the front seats help to provide protection against whiplash injury in rear-end crash testing.
In child occupant safety, Euro NCAP noted: “The Mokka scored maximum points based on the readings from the 3-year-old child dummy in the dynamics test.” This first-class score in this category is the result of Vauxhall child safety seats that come standard with rear outer ISOFIX child seat mountings and fasteners for an additional top-tether belt.
In the pedestrian safety category, the Mokka’s bumper scored maximum points. Euro NCAP highlighted its “good protection to pedestrians’ legs.”
Frontal impact at 64 km/h, side impact at 50 km/h, pole test conducted at 29 km/h.
