Opel Teases Frankfurt Electric Vehicle Concept
The concept, which will follow the zero-emission philosophy, should be transformed into a series model by 2012, as Turbo reports.
The automotive producer hasn't offered any details about the project. So, the tech stuff is still being kept secret, while the car is well hidden under a veil.
However, Opel is strengthening the idea that this will be an eco concept, as the company is presenting the vehicle next to the Ampera, by far the greenest model in its current line-up.
In addition to that, the Germans claim that this is an automotive experiment focused on offering zero-emissions urban mobility. This does make sense, as we are talking about a concept which is under more and more spotlights these days.
Considering that Opel is part of General Motors, we expect this concept to have further echos in the company, which means that is more important than it might seem at first glance.
The opinions on whether electric vehicles are the future of transportation or just a simple intermediary step are still split, but is seems that camakers from all over the world are keen to show us the way.
