Remember the days when an Opel Kadett GSI with a 2-liter, 16-valve, twin-cam engine making 156 horsepower was the pick of the Opel range? Of course you don't, since that was way back in the late 80s. But this makes the next video even more interesting to watch.
You're about to witness a sleeper car from several decades ago blow away the brand new Ferrari 458 Speciale with Capristo exhaust system, putting down over 605 PS, and a Porsche 997 9ff Turbo with 660 PS on the straight.ÿ

WKT, a little known tuning company from Germany, has build this incredible super-powerful Opel Kadett LS. When stock, this Astra ancestor had a 1.6-liter. Now, after the swap the car is running a 2.0 turbo with 685 PS.

Normally, the Kadett runs on 1.8 bar of pressure and puts down only 450 PS. However, 2.45 bar of pressure is used for the race and as a result, WKT's machine is blisteringly fast. 0 to 100 km/h takes about 3 seconds, after which the next 100 km/h goes by in 4.57 seconds and the top speed is 313 km/h.

The video certainly serves no educational purpose. All we've seen here is a highly modified car humiliate nearly stock supercars. But can you imagine the sort of trolling the driver could have pulled before the race: "Oh, you've got the new Ferrari 458 Speciale and you payed €300,000 for it? It must be really, really fast. All I've brought to the race is this Opel Kadett."
