Opel Corsa OPC, Insignia OPC Coming to Australia
The new Astra OPC has already been confirmed to arrive in Australia in February 2013. But the hot Corsa and Insigina going to join it at about the same time, Car Advice has learned.
The Corsa is a somewhat aging model, powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-banger producing 141 kW (192 hp) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque. That’s good for a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph) and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.2 seconds.
It’s also relatively economical, returning 10.5 l/100km in the city. But its main fault is that it doesn’t offer the sharpness of its rival the Clio, and it’s already five years old, having entered production in 2007.
The Insignia OPC is the most powerful Opel made. It boasts a 2.8-liter turbo V6 and only takes six seconds to reach 100 km/h. This is a decent choice should you be interested in an Audi S4 rival.
