The old Opel Astra GTC came with one of the sweetest optional extras money can buy: a panoramic windscreen and it is now time for the new GTC, built on the Astra J platform) to get the same goodie. However, it seems that designers have taken things even further, with the feature appearing to be even more spectacular now.
The Opel Astra GTC’s panoramic windscreen goes all the way to the middle of the roof, with no metallic reinforcement element spoiling the view. Of course, all this comes at a price, with the goodies being offered for EUR1,200.
In addition to that, Opel announced that it is introducing a two 1.7 CDTI diesel units for the Astra GTC. The first produces 110 hp and 280 Nm of torque, emitting 119 grams of CO2 per km and returning a fuel efficiency of 4.5 liters per 100 km, while the latter offers 130 hp and a peak torque of 300 Nm. In January next year, the Astra 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol and 2.0-lite CDTI diesel engines will become available with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
