Onboard Video Shows Bugatti Chiron Tackling Goodwood Hillclimb Like It's Nothing

We've already brought you tons of action from the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed throughout the day, but nothing seems to suit the melange of velocity and elegance delivered by the Earl of March's home like a Bugatti Chiron.

Molsheim's all-new weapon has obviously tackled the hillclimb and we've got the footage to prove it. In fact, you'll find two videos at the bottom of the page.

The first offers us an on-board view of the 1,500 hp hypercar's adventure, with the devilishly fast Bug making the 1.16-mile course sprint seems like child's play. We've decided to start with this clip since the helmets of the occupants are extremely obvious here.

We admit that we have a bit of a soft spot for seeing Bugattis being loaded with people wearing helmets. That's because these machines are the kind that require such protection elements, but get to feature them on way too few occasions, as cheeky hairstyles that presumably bring you street-cred don't fit inside a helmet.

As for the second video, this was shot from outside the car, giving us nothing but moments of iron-first-in-velvet-glove, as we like to call the Chiron's stunt.

And if the on-board clip might make it seems like the course is a bit narrow for the not-exactly-small Chiron, we want to remind you that, earlier today, Aussie pro slider Mad Mike Whiddett drifted the hell out of his 1,000 hp Mazda RX-8 on the track.

Oh, and there was also this Kamaz Dakar truck, which once again proved that, where there's a will, there's a drift.

Returning to the Bugatti Chiron adventure, as you can imagine, the episode seen here also offers us a brilliant occasion of sampling the hypercar's voice. A soundtrack that, by the way, may or may not bring us the loudest W16 concert in the world.
