We could not tell whether the Frenchman who commissioned this astonishing MotoGuzzi SP1000 is a Metallica fan, or whether he was aware that 30 years ago, about this time of year, Metallica was releasing their debut album Kill 'em All. Either way, Filippo Barbacane's Metallica Guzzi is pure Motorbreath, if you catch the drift.
The Metallica is the first 2013 machine from Rossopuro, and is a stunning year debut. The SP1000 lost pretty much all the OEM components as most of the bodyparts have been fabricated by Barbacane. Save for the engine and frame, all metal is custom: the glorious bare metal tank with included instruments, fenders, rear caliper mounts and other metallic accents which beautifully adorn this build.
The engine itself was not left untouched, and got a terrific black wrinkle finish, a perfect complement for the flat back frame and the shiny ergal aluminium parts. Bitubo rear shocks and a MASS 2-into-1 exhaust, together with a retro tail light make the rear end look awesome, while high-end Borrani laced rims, shod with retro Metzeler tires add to the classy attire.
Filippo also simplified the controls and stripped all the unnecessary parts to obtain a clean and tidy machine. Adding a bespoke seat which combines the traditional cafe-racer lines and the comfort-focused scrambler thickness crowned this amazing Moto Guzzi build. Someone is turning a lot of heads in France now... lucky guy!
