It looks like Yamaha are sticking to the 2013 model year recipe, as the 2014 machinery brings pretty much the same high-performance package, but with some slight variations of the color scheme and seemingly the same price, even if we expect the 2013 MY price tags to read lower figures anytime now.
If high-speed adrenaline rush is your fav game, then the 2014 Yamaha YZF-R1 is one of the really nifty toys. Capable of delivering an explosive outbreak of power from its crossplane 998cc in-line 4, the 6-speed gearbox comes with a slipper clutch and 7-stage traction control.
Intake and the fly-by-wire throttle ensure precise operation, while the fully-adjustable suspension for both front and rear are offering the ideal setup for various purposes from daily commuting ot track weekends.
The 2014 YZF-R1 is available from this month (September) and will be offered in Team Yamaha Blue/White priced $14,490 (€10,980), Matte Gray and Rapid Red for $14,290 (€10,830).
