Oakley Airbrake MX Goggles Are Like Nothing You've Seen Before [Video]
text size: A- A+
There are two big things about the Oakley Airbrake MX. First of all it's the very visor: while most other similar visors are stamp cut from flat sheets of Lexan plastic or other such materials and then bent to fit, the Airbrake MX lens is mold injected under high pressure, so it gains the exact needed shape.
This results in zero optical distortion, while the special compound called Plutonite is also optically-pure and with a high impact resistance. The outer frame is made of Oakley's O Matter proprietary compound, ensuring a sturdy design, while the face piece has revised design for increased comfort.
Lenses can be switched with extreme ease and Oakley are also planning to release a roll-off system using a fully-integrated canister and easy operation on May 1st. The Airbrake MX goggles are completely rebuildable, in case some parts wear off excessively or become damaged.
Depending on style, the Oakley Airbrake MX goggles retail for prices ranging between $160 and $210 (€124-163). Learn more about these new goggles watching the videos after the jump.
