Nuseti Is World’s First Inner Drive System Mountain Bike

Designed by Polish mountain biking medalist Gregory Zielinski, this two-wheeler is unique through its Inner Drive System, a completely encapsulated drive unit that is absolutely resistant to mechanical and weather factors. The 16-speed planetary gearbox has an maximum input torque of 184 lb-ft (250 Nm). In other words, the person riding it can safely apply on a pedal force of 326 lbs / 147 kg while pedaling.

The result of five years of work, this project started in 2008 and is currently in the last stage of development. After successfully riding a prototype, its creators have opened up a Kickstarter campaign to back up the fabrication process. According to its designer, Nuseti is a new generation two-wheeler especially developed for the mountain biking industry.

The planetary gearbox, as well as the rest of the working elements (chain, chainrings, freewheel), are completely enclosed in the frame construction and remain permanently lubricated. The best part is you can ride this bike mainly anywhere, as the inside elements won’t get contaminated with dust, mud and so on. This also makes i free from frequent maintenance and very durable.

Moreover, the Nuseti is also able to change its gear while full pedaling power is applied, as well as when no pedaling is going on. It’s equipped with a quick-release rear wheel axle and gear shifting is based on a single lever trigger shifters - one on the right side, for selecting slower gears, and one on the left side, for selecting faster gears.

Considering it’s design and performance, this baby won’t come cheap, having an starting price of $6,262 (EUR 4,612), but you'll have to agree is the toy you want to take on vacation.
