No More Ice Scraping Thanks to the Window Heater

Most drivers know that, in order to be fully prepared for the winter season, you should get a couple of cold-resistant things such as anti-freeze, low-temperature windshield washer, proper tires and, for icy mornings, an ice scraper. Well, the folks at Pro-Idee have just launched the so-called Car Window Heater, a new device which does exactly what its name suggests: it heats the window of your car in order to clean your windshield of ice and snow. And more importantly, it does this automatically, so you don't even need to get into the car to start it.

In order to better understand how it works, you should probably know that it features an in-built timer which lets you schedule a heating “session” for the next morning (a process which by the way takes approximately 30 minutes). So, all you have to do is to configure the
gadget for a certain hour and let it do its job. After approximately 30 minutes, the car is 100 percent ready for a ride, the manufacturer guarantees.

More importantly, the Car Window Heater is automatically turned off after 30 minutes, with the settings you entered saved for later use. And in case you're afraid that it may drain your car battery, it's actually impossible because the device is powered by a built-in NiCd rechargeable battery which, according to figures published by the producer, is able to provide heating for around 2.5 hours (with approximately 30 minutes every morning, it means about 5 mornings without ice scraping).

Pro-Idee sells the product for $90, which is quite a reasonable price taking into account that it can help you avoid annoying mornings when scraping ice seems to be the only way to use your car.
