With their plans to electrify Europe underway, Nissan seem committed to showing us that the electric way is the best way. And so, they have announced the entry into production of the e-NV200 compact van, which we had previously seen in concept form, painted in a very nice-looking shade of Nissan Leaf light blue.
The production will start next year in Nissan’s Spanish plant, in Barcelona. The electric van will be built alongside the conventionally-powered variant. To accommodate the production of the EV, 700 new workers will be hired, while Nissan’s investment for the tooling and production facilities will be around the €100 ($126) million mark.

The e-NV200 is an excellent idea which currently makes more sense than regular passenger-oriented EVs, as companies have large parking lots at their disposal, which can be fitted with relatively cheap charging units so that there will always be a charged and ready-to-go e-NV200 at the employees’ disposal.
