It seems that the Nissan LEAF has made a habit out of setting new world records and the vehicle has recently done it again. A convoy of 225 LEAFs driven around the Silverstone track in the UK set a Guinness World Record for the ‘largest parade of electric vehicles’. The previous record, 128 vehicles, had been set by Chrysler in the US.
Nissan LEAF owners came from all parts of the UK to meet on the Silverstone circuit on Saturday 24th November, with the event being held by Nissan, who also used the event to gather feedback on the car.
“It was great to see so many LEAFs on the track at the same time. We are delighted to have broken the Guinness world record and want to thank all the owners who helped us achieve this, we couldn’t have done it without them,” Paul O’Neill, Nissan’s product manager for LEAF said.
We'll remind you that the LEAF went into the record books earlier this year as it became the fastest car over a mile (1.61 km) in reverse - the record was set by Terry Grant at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
