Nissan Leaf Beats Chevrolet Volt in September Sales

We don’t know if the fact that it doesn’t use gas that’s to blame for this, or things that have to do with supply, but the Nissan Leaf has managed once again to beat General Motors’ Chevrolet Volt in monthly sales figures for the US market.

Nissan says it sold 1,031 Leafs in September 2011, which is a relatively big improvement over the 931 units delivered in July, but still down on high achieved in August - 1,362. The good news is that, as expected, the 7,000 mark has been crossed (7,199), which puts the EV firmly ahead of the Volt’s 3,895 units.

However, GM still has something to boast with, as September sales of 723 Volts is more than double the 302 units delivered in the dismal month of August. and about six times as much as the 125 sold in July.
