We no longer have to ask ourselves the question ‘Why Nissan Should Build the Juke-R’, because they’re finally going to do so. It’s the news that most gearheads were waiting to hear: Nissan is starting a limited production run of the Juke-R. The very positive public reception of the original car through their internet campaign has prompted Nissan to start making it.
Apparently they have 3 offers, all from Dubai, where the car was shown in January and a series of videos were shot on closed roads as the Juke proved to be quicker than a Gallardo, an SLS AMG and a 458 Italia.
The Juke’s marketing manager, Gareth Dunsmore, said that "with such a strong reaction, and with three genuine offers on the table, we decided we had to make the concept a reality."
The new cars will feature the running gear of the 2012 model-year GT-R, so instead of 480-hp, the new cars will get 545-hp and it should be able to crack 257 km/h (160mph) and go from 0-100 km/h (0-60mph) four tenths quicker then the old model (3.3seconds).
