Nissan GT-R Nismo Drag Races McLaren 675LT with Stunning 1,000m Result

There are two main similarities between the Nissan GT-R Nismo and the McLaren 675LT, namely the fact that both pack twin-turbo 3.8-liter engines and both play in the 600 horsepower league.

Nevertheless, while (in terms of machines coming from "large-scale" automakers) the GT-R is the most affordable 600 HP supercar, the 675 Longtail is probably the most expensive member of this club. While we're at it, we'll remind you that title will soon be stolen by the yet-unreleased 688 High Sport.

Despite the difference above (and tons of others that separate the two), a drag race involving these speed demons was inevitable. Well, here we are, bringing you a standing kilometer battle between the Nismo GT-R and the 675LT, courtesy of Motorsport Magazine.

However, before you hit that "play" button and see what happens when these two beasts are thrown at each other, we want to talk money. And while we're sorry if this serves as a reminder of the fact that you can't have any of the beasts, you should know we feel the same way.

While the $149,990 MSRP of the Nismo version represents a whopping 214 percent increase over the initial price of the GT-R (that was back in 2008), we can still say the steel structure of the GT-R has to do with Godzilla's budget-savvy nature.

Looking at the $349,500 (MSRP) McLaren 675LT Coupe, you'd say its pricing increase over the $241,800 demanded by the original MP4-12C back in 2011 isn't as large as in the case of the Japanese machine. But the Longtail still costs more than double when compared to the GT-R Nismo, even though this didn't keep Woking from selling all 500 units of the supercar within two months of the vehicle's 2015 Geneva Motor Show launch.

P.S.: Yes, you quarter mile aficionados, the Nismo GT-R does top the rear-wheel-drive 675 Longtail in terms of 1,320 feet adventures.
